Aug 15. The Moscow State Labor Inspection issued instructions to TNK-BP Management on Thursday to eliminate violations of the labor legislation identified as part of an extraordinary probe by September 1, Federal Service for Employment and Labor Relations (Rostrud) said. The inspection was conducted at the request of TNK-BP Management's chairman Victor Vekselberg, said the source of Oil Information Agency. According to the source at TNK-BP, in particular, the probe identified that wages of foreign managers at TNK-BP are 20-80% higher than those of Russian managers which hold similar positions. According to the Inspection, this is attributable to "local statutory acts adopted by the company which provide for offering salaries and benefits based on citizenship rather than the professional qualities of employees", the act based on the probe says. In addition, having analyzed the employment terms of foreign specialists seconded to TNK-BP from BP, the inspection concluded that TNK-BP Management has actual labor relations with 151 foreign employees which are not properly documented".
